Jerry Colangelo
The Colangelo College of Business (CCOB) embraces a student-centric culture with an emphasis on higher purpose and academic success. Jerry Colangelo, whom which the college is named after, is an iconic figure in the Sports Business industry worldwide.
About Mr. Colangelo
Mr. Colangelo is the epitome of which we aspire for our members to work towards in regards to high achievement and integrity. He started his sports business career as the marketing director, scout, and assistant to the president of the Chicago Bulls in 1966. In 1968, he was hired as the first GM of the Phoenix Suns, eventually being recognized as the NBA Executive of the Year on four separate occasions. He formerly owned the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA), Arizona Sandsharks (Indoor Soccer), Arizona Rattlers (Arena Football), and the Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB). Jerry Colangelo was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004, and is currently the managing director of USA Basketball.
